Karl Popper (the philosopher not the inventor of the poppers:) used to say that in science there is an asymmetry between true hypotheses, of which we cannot have absolute certainty and which would be preferable to define as supported by experience, and the false ones, of which we can be certain. The scientific studies showing the rapid decline of the living species ad ecosystems, that lately came to the fore with Greta Thumberg, show that the climate change will affect the human race too (the Lancet report). Evidence that to most of the people will be unnoticed considering the few ones that have time to spend in the nature and observe the fauna. On the other hand, one finds information supporting the exact contrary. It is like the more we progress the more it is becoming impossible to grasp where the truth lies.
